Dr Georgina Nugent
Georgina Nugent is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Vienna. She is the author of Beckett and Stein (2023), The Making of Samuel Beckett’s Company/ Compagnie (2021), the editor of a special issue of the Journal of Beckett Studies that focuses on ‘Beckett’s Women Contemporaries’ (2023), and the co-editor of Ulysses Forty Years: A Critical Retrospective of Hans Walter Gabler’s Critical and Synoptic Edition of Ulysses (2024). She serves on the Editorial Board of Samuel Beckett Today / Aujourd’hui. Her current book project is a comparative study of James Joyce and Gertrude Stein. In January 2025 she will be a Lecturer in Modernism at University College Cork, Ireland.
Dr James Little
James Little is Assistant Professor of Drama, Theatre and Performance at the Department of English Studies, University of Cyprus. He received PhDs from Trinity College Dublin and the University of Antwerp, and has worked at Masaryk University (Brno), Charles University (Prague) and University College Dublin, where he held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. His publications include Samuel Beckett in Confinement: The Politics of Closed Space (Bloomsbury Academic, 2020), The Making of Samuel Beckett’s Not I / Pas moi, That Time / Cette fois and Footfalls / Pas (University Press Antwerp and Bloomsbury, 2021) – for which he edited the online genetic edition (2022; see www.beckettarchive.org) – and Ireland: Interfaces and Dialogues (Wissenschaftlicher Verlag Trier, 2022), co-edited with Ondřej Pilný, Radvan Markus and Daniela Theinová. He is co-editor of the Bloomsbury Academic book series Global Perspectives in Irish Literary Studies and director of the UCY Irish Studies Collective.
Prof Ondřej Pilný
Ondřej Pilný is a Professor of English and American Literature, Director of the Centre for Irish Studies and Chair of the Graduate Studies Board in Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at Charles University, Prague. He has published widely on subjects ranging from modern and contemporary Irish and Anglophone drama to Irish fiction, cultural memory, and structuralist theory, and has translated into Czech works by J.M. Synge, Flann O’Brien, Samuel Beckett, Brian Friel, Martin McDonagh, Enda Walsh, Mark O’Rowe and others. His recent publications include Ireland: Interfaces and Dialogues (ed. with Radvan Markus, Daniela Theinová and James Little, Wissenschaftlicher Verlag Trier, 2022), Cultural Convergence: The Dublin Gate Theatre, 1928-1960 (ed. with Ruud van den Beuken and Ian R. Walsh; Palgrave, 2021) and a thematic journal issue, “Revisiting Brendan Behan”, co-edited with Nathalie Lamprecht (Litteraria Pragensia, 34.67 [2024]). Ondřej is a past Chairperson of IASIL and a former Vice-President of EFACIS.
